Biography

Patrick Conlon is a Canadian-American composer, producer, violinist, & co-founder of the music label Onyx Lane.

As a producer and recording engineer, Conlon has worked on multiple GRAMMY®-Nominated and Billboard No. 1 charting albums, and he currently serves as the Associate Director of the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma.

His recent original work is heavily informed by psychoacoustics, translating electronic production techniques into playable live acoustic orchestrations, perceived and subliminal metric and spatial modulations, and procedural transformation. Art, poetry, prose, science, math, modern music production, pop, and film influences live as equals alongside a serious study and respect for golden-era craft to create classical music for a new generation of peoples.

Biography

Patrick Conlon is a composer, music producer, audio-engineer, and violinist who uses classical and popular composition and production techniques to create long-form emotional musical narratives.

Patrick Conlon has worked with his artistic partner Christina Giacona for over fifteen years, first as founding members of The Los Angeles New Music Ensemble, and later as co-founders of Onyx Lane, a music production company with an in-house record label with distribution through Naxos of America. Through Onyx Lane, Patrick and Christina have been composing, arranging, and producing music for film, sound installations, live performances, and album recordings with work featured on labels including Universal, Naxos, PIAS, Centaur, Big Shoulders, Azica, and Hit City U.S.A. labels, and as arrangers, musicians, and contractors for film and TV.

Composer

As a composer, Patrick has received orchestral commissions from ensembles including the Fort Smith Symphony, Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Shoals Symphony Orchestra, University of Oklahoma Wind Symphony, Arkansas Symphony, and Los Angeles New Music Ensemble. 

Patrick’s most recent release of original music, IN THE WAITING ROOM: 4 WORKS FOR STRING ORCHESTRA (2025) with conductor Jeffrey Grogan, Christina Giacona, and the Onyx Lane Chamber Orchestra, showcases his bold orchestral writing and production acumen, following up on his acclaimed 2021 post-classical visual album CUBE OF LIGHT. 

Producer & Engineer

As a producer and engineer focusing on classical, jazz, film, and pop recording at Onyx Lane with his partner Christina Giacona, Patrick has been fortunate to work on several GRAMMY®-Nominated albums including Impossible Dream by Aaron Lazar, featuring Josh Groban, Neil Patrick-Harris, Kate Baldwin, Norm Lewis, Leslie Odom, Jr., Kelli O-Hara, and Loren Allred; ALIKE: MY MOTHER’S DREAM featuring Allison Chaney, Benjamin Loeb, and the National Symphonia; REQUIEM OF LIGHT, featuring the music of Patti Drennan and performances by The Clarion Choir, Steven Fox, Sangeeta Kaur, and Brian Giebler; and Kitt Wakeley’s SE7EN SEASONS featuring Starr Parodi and The Royal Philharmonic. 

Other recent work also includes mixing Brian Byrne’s SHE MUST GO featuring Kurt Elling, Curtis Stigers, Veronica Swift, Tierney Sutton, Kate McGarry, Monte Moore, Nayanna Holley, and the LA Children’s Choir; Celtic Woman’s Nollaig; and VEILS OF JUSTICE  featuring the compositions of Hannibal Lokumbe performed by Karen Slack, Brannen Temple, Alexander Mickelthwate and the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. 

String Arranger and Violinist

As a string arranger, violinist, and fiddle player he is also featured on several recent albums and film/tv scores including the albums VOLUME V by Other Lives & SALVAGE ENTERPRISE by the Polyphonic Spree; and the scores for Cricket, The Strangers - Chapter 2, and 911 Nashville. 

Upcoming albums of original concert music include Cube of Light: Live with Shanti Simon and the OU Wind Symphony (2026) and REMISSION with John Jeter and the Fort Smith Symphony (2027).
